The Award in Supporting Colleagues Undertaking off Ground Tree Related Operations 20-11 (formally CS45) training course is designed for people who work in the arboricultural industry, it is suitable for novices and professionals.

The course covers the working operations expected of a ground’s person assisting the tree climber. Elements covered within the training course include: setting out the site; sending the saw and other equipment up to the climber; operating lowering equipment; breaking down crown sections and handling and stacking arisings.

A ground worker is important to a climber, there has to be good team work between them to ensure that they are working in safe conditions and according to health and safety legislation to keep themselves and others safe at all times.

Award in Supporting Colleagues Undertaking off Ground Tree Related Operations 20-11 City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 (CS45).

Prerequisite training is the Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting (CS30).

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you should be able to:
1) Identify, inspect and comment upon key parts of the equipment to be used.
2) Prepare the equipment for use ensuring the safety of themselves, other people and the environment.
3) Breakdown crown sections on the ground.
4) Operating hand tools.
5) Positioning of warning signs.

Training fee £100 +VAT = £120
Assessment plus City and Guilds registration fee £125 per person (no VAT).

Total £245 per person.

All fees are payable upon booking.

You will require:
1) Chainsaw footwear.
2) Chainsaw gloves.

All other PPE and equipment can be supplied by Lowe Maintenance at no extra cost, under the proviso that any damages and / or losses are replaced by the candidate.

Please get in touch with us if you wish to use your own equipment and machinery to check its suitability.

One day for the training.

Half a day approximately for the assessment (on a second day).

We do try to ensure that the assessment is consecutive but cannot guarantee this.

Do you need a refresher? HSE advises that you complete a refresher every 5 years, although some insurance companies state every 3 years. We can help. We tend to run the courses when we have four people requiring the same units for refreshing, if you get in touch we can add you to the list and let you know when the next refresher date is planned for.

Equally if you have a group of people we can put a date together just for you.
