This qualification is ideal for those who use an ATV sit astride quad bike, if you work in the following industries:

  • agriculture
  • horticulture
  • grounds maintenance
  • forestry
  • game keeping, etc.

It is extremely likely due to the amount of accidents that have happened in recent years that you will need some level of formal training to cover your insurance requirements and help to ensure the safety of all users.

If you only require the training and your insurance company are happy with that option please do contact us for more details.

A fundamental part of industry good practice, along with keeping yourself and others safe in the work place whilst using ATV’s is paramount, and you need to understand your responsibilities when using potentially dangerous machinery in day to day situations, remember ATV’s are not toys.

The minimum age for taking this qualification is 16 and please note, this course does not replace any legal requirements for a driving licence which you will need if you plan to use a road legal bike in the future.

In this safe use of an ATV sit astride quad bike October 2020 course you will cover;

  • pre-use checks that should be carried out before use
  • identify maintenance (if applicable) of the quad bike
  • instrument and control identification and recognition
  • safe driving of your ATV
  • manoeuvring the vehicle on rough terrain and slopes
  • furthermore, although it is not part of the assessment process we will be covering a failed hill climb, an essential element when working on hilly landscapes

There is also an option of covering the use of a trailer or a trailed attachment within the course. Please let us know, when you book, if you want to include this as part of the qualification.
