This Aerial Cutting of Trees Using Free-Fall Techniques course CS39 April 2020 is primarily for arborists and tree surgeons, intending to do tree work and wanting to use a chainsaw from a rope and harness in a professional context.
Perfect for those who are self employed, sub contractors or work for larger companies carrying out tree works, such as councils, railways and vegetation management.
The course is the natural progression after gaining the awards in Tree Climbing and Rescue (CS38) and an award in Ground Based Chainsaw Operation (CS30 and CS31).
The CS39 primarily covers:
- getting into the correct positions to be able to use a chainsaw in the air and cut wood to fall in a pre determined direction by either free fall method or handheld
- to demonstrate the ability to carry out a target prune safely while suspended from a rope and harness.
Further more it is important to note that there is no rigging involved in this course.
