Lowe Maintenance are a friendly company and deliver a brilliant program and they go beyond expectations to make sure you enjoy the courses they’re the first company to check out if we need any training or refreshers

  2. Colin Chick

As always Demelza and Phil were spot on, pre course communication was excellent and course delivery on the day was professional, efficient, and informative and as with all Lowe courses you always finish the day having learnt something new!

  3. Tom Hickey

This is the 6th Lowe maintenance course I have been on. Demelza and Phil are very knowledgeable and give clear and concise instructions and guidance. Highly recommend

  4. Emma Holdsworth

I attended this course with a colleage. We were very happy with the course and our instructor Phil. He was very knowledgable and a great teacher, very reasureing and approachable.

  5. Elizabeth Grieve

Ross was a great instructor. He kept the course running smoothly and was patient and calm when the nerves kicked in a bit when first using the chainsaw. He kept the teaching going throughout the week and he made the course enjoyable as well as informative.

  6. Andrew Williamson

    Very educational and enjoyable course.
I will be looking at returning in the future to progress in this industry.

  7. Johnathan Watters

Due to covid 19 impact on college qualifications our son Owen Who is 18 was unable to obtain his ad- qualifications.

We contacted Lowe Maintenance with a possibility to obtain additional qualifications. We booked Owen on the chainsaw coarse c30-c31 which was well organised & fully covid safe. Demelza & Phil who run the courses I honestly have to say from a parent point of view were amazing in all aspects. Owen enjoyed his experience & Phil made him feel very relaxed & welcome & a great tutor. Owen gained his city & Guilds for the coarse.

Would certainly recommend to anyone. Hoping to put Owen on future courses & won’t be looking anywhere else apart from Lowe Maintenance although a 4 hour drive round trip. Thank-you so much Demelza & Phil & the 2 Lads who also done the coarse with Owen. He really did enjoy the whole package.

    Thanks Again.

Received my certificates in the post from the chainsaw course (CS30 & CS31) taken with Lowe maintenance last month and realised I hadn’t left a review.

Great service from start to finish from very knowledgeable people. Demelza made the booking process easy after talking through the different options available.

Phil is a very great teacher and entertaining with it too. Will happily explain in different ways if you’re struggling with something and made it a very enjoyable week of learning. Already booking my next course with them so that must count for something!!

  9. Neil Blenkinship

Had a great week training for my CS30/31 tickets.

Phill is a great instructor, he really knows his stuff and makes everything simple and clear to understand (as well as being incredibly patient!). Demelza is lovely and made the booking process extremely easy for me as I booked on with very short notice.

I’ll definitely be back for more courses in the future!

  10. Zara Hanshaw

Had a great week doing my Chainsaw maintenance, cross-cutting and felling. Phil and Ross were both very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you!!

  11. Stuart Marley

3 of our team took part in the ‘Manual fed wood chipper’ and ‘Brush Cutter/trimmer’ training.

Then another 3 members of the team did refresher training for CS30 and CS31.

The course was quick and easy to book and pay for. Demelza was at the end of the phone to answer any/all the questions we had. The training was faultless. We would highly recommend this company and can’t wait for the next time we work together.

  12. Jessica Jane Eyre

Being someone of the female pursuasion, an arthritic one at that, I was a little apprehensive to get my chainsaw quals… To say the least.
I needn’t have been as Phill and Demelza made the whole experience, from first enquiry, through booking, training, and testing so enjoyable, informative and rewarding.

I researched provider’s and was initially attracted by the course price – important, – and the fact the CS30/31 was combined. Tricky to find elsewhere. I ended up travelling 5 hours to take the course with Lowe Maintenance… So probably paid more in the end, but I’d train with them again, no doubt.

They also gave me some help after the course when I was looking for some advice regarding kit.

Phill was awesome to learn with and Demelza was awesome to deal with through the whole process.

I’ve already recommended them to my better half and would recommend to anyone looking to get certificated…even if you’re a broken girl like me.

  13. Neil Fearn

A very well run, professional and fun course on my CS30-31. Thanks to all

Phil is a great trainer – very friendly and capable, he made sure everyone felt comfortable and was available to give advice throughout the course.

  23. Stuart Davis

I would sincerely recommend Lowe Maintenance as a quality training provider. From the first phone call to Demelza to ask about the course to the last handshake with Phil to say thanks and goodbye I can honestly reflect upon my journey with them to say I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the entire process. Nothing was rushed no question was dismissed and Phil patiently and professionally attended to every student’s learning needs as he practically assisted in developing cutting skills and also built better understanding by reflecting upon his considerable industry experience. I would say to anyone considering completing such training for personal or business needs to just pick up the phone, and speak to Demelza and I’m sure, after that, as I did they’ll be reassured that making a commitment to Lowe Maintenance Training will be money well spent. Personally, I can’t thank them both enough.

  24. Neil Richards

I was nervous about starting the course but I was put at ease immediately on arrival and I felt comfortable by the time I was assessed. The assessor also made me feel comfortable and at ease giving me confidence throughout the observation. Great people and a great course.

Excellent teaching methods from start to finish, which made me feel comfortable and knowledgable about a daunting piece of equipment across the week.

  27. Ashley Rudd

The chainsaw course with Lowe Maintenance was very well organised and run by Demelza and Phil. As well as teaching the ins and out of chainsaw maintenance, the course offers much in the way of practical experience over the course of the week, enabling you to practice all the cuts needed to understand the felling of small trees. Thanks to the team

  31. Adam Mcavoy

Can honestly say that I didn’t lose concentration once and trust me that’s a very difficult task for me to do!

Very much enjoyed my course. Phill was a great instructor and explained everything very well. Would definitely recommend Lowe Maintenance to others.

  41. Daniel Woollacott

Friendly atmosphere and professional instruction focused on actual improvement rather than just getting past the test on the day. I learnt more in 5 days there than in a year working in the industry. Cheers!

  42. Michael Addis

I came to the course with no subject knowledge and the course was well paced with excellent instruction and proved to be a very enjoyable experience. The precourse material was excellent and very relevant to the course and the final assessment. The use of independent assessors gives credence to the qualification and I would heartily recommend Lowe Maintenance to anyone who requires specialist training.

  43. Oliver Lowe

It was a brilliant course very hands on, Phill is very knowledgeable, and I enjoyed all of it.

  44. Steven Brown

Phil delivered a fantastic few days training for us teaching us to fell and process trees. Ultimately passing our assessment without trouble and leaving us with a confidence in how to use our new skills safely and effectively in the working environment.

  45. Jack Cronin

I cannot recommend Lowe maintenance highly enough, Phil made the days fly by, incredibly enthusiastic and full of knowledge. Even tells a good joke too.

  46. Sarah George

Phill is unfailingly patient and understanding, delivering his wealth of knowledge with humour and empathy and never making us feel stupid for asking questions. I’m dyspraxic, asthmatic, well beyond the first flush of youth and distinctly on the heavy side but he managed to get me to the stage of being confident with the chainsaw within 3 days. Lots of useful additional information that enables us to se the chainsaw effectively and also understand the wider context, not just teaching to enable us to pass the assessment but also helping us going forward.

  47. Peter Scoones

Would highly reccommend this seamlessly delivered course. 4 days of training thoroughly covers all assessment requirements.

  48. Ben Purkiss-McEndoo

I really enjoyed the course. I felt that I was in a professional learning environment yet it was laid back and friendly enough to relax. A very effective environment to learn in.

  49. Ross Daniell

Used a chainsaw as a DIYer. Very glad I’ve been trained. Learnt so much and feel lucky to have had all of my practicals in the ideal location for both learning and assessment. My trainer was brilliant, giving the “why” all through the course. Been 40+ since I did a formal qualification and assessment. The Why was key for me.

  50. Dominic Ward

Absolutely tremendous. Phill was very clear, communicative and a great trainer. Everything covered being so easily accessible on the portal was a massive help.

  51. David Younger

Phil was a brilliant trainer willing to listen to everyone’s requirements very thorough and knows the job inside out, Willing to help if you become stuck, thank you Phil

  52. Gordon Sudworth

Lowe Maintenance – Forestry & Land Bases Training resources ie course files and videos and e-learning were very helpful, informative and instructive. A must in preparing for my chainsaw CS30-31 course. Phil was my instructor. He was a first-rate instructor who read the group well and helped those in need accordingly. I enjoyed his company and hope to do further courses in the future. I highly recommend the course, the instructor and the organisation.

  53. Brandon Cherry

Well constructed course with a knowledgeable instructor, good amounts of feedback

  54. Eddie Mullany

Great course delivered well for anyone who’s thinking about using a chainsaw. Knowledgeable instructor with lots of experience who explores the grey areas and variations you may find outside the textbook. Good course materials online to aid learning within small groups of four for plenty for plenty of opportunities for feedback and questions. Highly recomended.

  55. Georgie Thirlwell

I would 100% recommend Lowe Maintenance for anyone looking to get their chainsaw ticket, Phill was a great, very knowledgeable instructor, and would definitely use LM again for other courses, thank you!

  56. Jeanette Wharton
